
Enginery was responsible for EIA installation supervision in Tampere Energia’s LLT45 project
At the beginning of 2025, we started cooperation with Tampere Energia, where our task was to provide EIA installation supervision for the LLT45 electric boiler plant project. The project involved the construction of two 50 MW electric boilers and a 10,000 m³ district heating accumulator to support the utilization of renewable energy in Tampere’s district heating production. Commissioning carried out during the autumn was successful, and the project has now been successfully completed.
Tampere Energia’s strategic goal is to be a pioneer in energy solutions and the most reliable energy company. The company aims to be known for boldly investing in renewable energy solutions. Thanks to significant investments made in recent years, energy production emissions in 2027 will be up to 90 percent lower than in 2010.
One part of these investments has been the construction of electric boilers and large district heating storage units. The LLT45 project significantly increases Tampere Energia’s renewable energy capacity.
”After this project, we will have a total of 145 MW of electric boiler capacity, which is a significant amount in our district heating network. The basic principle is that when it’s windy and electricity is cheap, the electric boilers run at full capacity to store energy in the district heating accumulators. When the morning peak in district heating demand arrives, we can release heat that was produced during the night,” says Erkki Suvilampi, Manager, Strategic Projects at Tampere Energia.
Enginery’s role in the project
Enginery’s role in the project was to act as the EIA supervisor, meaning our experienced expert was responsible for supervising electrical, instrumentation, and automation installations. One significant and important part of the work was reviewing the plans, checking them, and making necessary corrections.
“Timo has done a good job. He is an experienced professional whose strengths are in instrumentation. He has done a lot of design work and site supervision in instrumentation.”
Careful review of the plans and making corrections played a particularly important role in the early stages of the project, helping to avoid larger issues later in the project.
In addition to strong experience and expertise, Erkki highlights Enginery’s price–quality ratio as one of the company’s competitive advantages. Although customer experiences in projects often become associated with specific experts, it is important that customers feel they are receiving value for their money.
“Enginery’s price–quality ratio is at a very good level.” Erkki says.
